/the challenge

This was one of those briefs I was way too excited to receive. A local group of thespians decided to create their own theater company named "Southern Rogue." The name alone got me way too excited to get started on the logo. They wanted something that made people look twice and had an element of surprise. They also wanted to capture that rogue spirit and quickly represent the idea of the theater, without being too on the nose. Thus, the skull/glove was born.

/the process

Below you’ll see some sketches of the process (there were oh so many sketches for this logo!) and some unselected concepts. My personal favorite was the chicken one, but understood that the client felt the selected skull design reflected the group’s personality more accurately.
