/the challenge
The Von Braun Center wanted to offer its patrons a unique dining experience on their campus before or after attending their music show. After assisting them with the naming process, we originally settled on the name Encore, but later discovered that name could not be used due to trademark issues (that’s why you’ll see so many “E”s in my initial sketches.) So instead the name changed to Rhythm On Monroe (the restaurant is on Monroe
Street downtown.)
The icon for the logo incorporates a fork (food) and a treble clef (music) in a slender mark that reflects the fine dining experience the restaurant offers its customers.
/opening day
Rhythm officially opened to the public on March 12, 2020. My husband and I made the grand sacrifice of going to taste some of the items on the menu (the fries are to die for!) and take some pictures while we were there. It was a complete honor to be able to work on this project, and I can’t wait to try every item on the menu!
On February 26, 2021 the Rhythm on Monroe logo was awarded a Silver ADDY by the American Advertising Federation of North Alabama in the category of Logo Design.
